This semester, I’ve explored design principles and techniques for multimedia projects. The subject emphasizes using industry-standard tools to craft professional assets for various platforms like web, social media, and video. This section laid the groundwork for exploring multimedia. We focused on the principles of effective design and the importance of visual communication in digital projects. Key topics included the basics of typography, color theory, and how to align visual elements for clarity and engagement.
We learned how to design visually appealing graphics for websites. This included creating banners, icons, and mockups using tools like GIMP. We also explored responsive design principles to ensure assets look good across devices.
Social media design focused on creating shareable content, from post templates to Instagram story designs. Emphasis was placed on branding consistency and maximizing visual impact within small formats. Projects involved designing carousel posts, ads, and promotional content.
We explored video as a powerful medium for storytelling. Using basic editing tools, we created intros, transitions, and motion graphics for platforms like YouTube. This involved combining clips, audio, and visual effects to produce engaging content.
This module highlighted the importance of type in design. We experimented with font pairings, layout compositions, and readability. Projects included designing typographic logos and posters that showcased creative text arrangements.
